 Re: Musical taste
Well I have a very diverse taste in music, and I try to be open to all kinds, but my love lies in punk rock and all it's offshoots and blends with other types of music. As such I like classic 70's punk rock, harcore punk, thrash metal, crossover trash, etc etc but also folk punk, ska punk, synthpunk and more .I've also taken an interest in hip hop lately after I found out that there is some decent stuff out there, although underground, contrary to my previously unfair stance towards it (It even has it's own punk offshoot, rapcore! )

 Re: Musical taste
Triangle.Seriously, I have very little musical taste. In terms of video game music, the best thing it can do is do a good job setting the mood of a certain scene, like fear, victory, action, whatever. Well, sometimes when I'm punching out code I like to listen to upbeat techno stuff.

Somebody listen to those and let me know what you think. Aaah, how much I hate modern and mainstream metal... Emptyness. So did you even listen to them? Whisteria Cottage is not empty, they use absurd diminished scales. That's for damn sure, and Applaud the Impaler's drummer is insanely good. What is awesome to you? Slayer, Metallica, Pantera, Children of Bodom, AC/DC, Led Zepplin? Metal is not all about Guitar-solo's, hence why the genre has basically died out. It was an inside contest of who could play the fastest solo, with little to no attention paid to the other band members. Electronic cannot break the ice in America, I really don't know why, because it is so inventive and new, each and every one has their own message and style. I have a feeling you are far more Rock and Roll, then you are actually "metal". And that is not a personal attack on you in anyway, it is just that I have met many people that often get the two confused or simply mix them together. I don't know how or why. I simply cannot stand the same riff for 3 - 9 minutes. With a giant solo in the middle of it that you have to sit and wait for. Also, the only drummer I would credit with being above these drummers is Rush's drummer. And that is basically because he can do whatever he wants and transverses many different styles whilst fluidly blending them. Plus the bands listed above by far have the best show presence in the world, but I would doubt many of you still enter pits these days. I'm not talking about the little lame-ass push pits either. I dunno, I am very into music of all kinds, although I listen to one particular style more than others and have less knowledge of the other genres I do not regularly listen to. However I, admittedly, do have a larger preference to metal or to more properly describe what I listen to Deathcore. This is mainly because I currently do vocals for a (hopefully) up and coming band. Here is a large list of bands that I listen to Gallows Wolfmother Massive Attack Portishead Job for a Cowboy Son of Aurelius Chelsea Grin Sky Eats Airplane Arsonists Get All The Girls Through The Eyes of The Dead Thick as Blood Aphotic Murder The Chariot Norma Jean Cradle of Filth Coal Chamber Devil Driver Depeche Mode Dr. Acula The Irish Front Nine Inch Nails Otep Mudvayne Pixies Shockwave Thy Art Is Murder Within the Ruins The World We Knew We Came As Romans Viraemia Voltera I dunno. I prob missed a few. Somebody tell me I listen to something somebody else does.

 Re: Musical taste
Primarily video game music, other than that, mostly metal. Industrial would be my favorite I guess.
