Post A random newbie approaches!
And yeah, that would be me. Sorry if this isn't really something typical of these forums, but...yessir, I'm here. And looking forward to this mod in particular--I was raised on Doom, Heretic, and HeXen--and from what I've seen you guys are doing a spectacular job. I somehow managed to stumble into this on youtube, believe it or not, from a guy ranting about how great old games were and then talking about this particular modification.

I know having just ONE more watcher/active member probably isn't a big deal, but...yeah. Here I am!

On that note, I've seen a lot of topics complaining about how slow this is going. I would just like to point out:

1.) Map making is hard as hell, it takes a very long time.
2.) They're working for free, just to make us happy.
3.) It's easily the best doom 3 modification I've ever seen from graphics alone
and 4.) I would MUCH rather have it come out slower and be in a more full state of completeness than get a rushed piece of lost potential.

Keep up the great work guys, I love what I've seen of the screenshots.

I've only tried making a map in a 3D environment once.

Never. Again.

What it really depends on most is persistence. I felt the same way when I started mapping, but you just have to keep cracking away at it, even when you feel like putting your fists through the walls(which is a lot of the time at first.)

Nowadays, if I go a whole day without mapping, I start getting restless and irritable.

Another newbie...

Hy all.
I got to know about that project a week ago and I'm really impressed by the screenshots already. I'm really looking forward to it and I'm really kinda impatient ;) , but as ElBaha already said, such a project takes a lot of time.
So just keep up the good work :)
