 Re: Hexen II is kicking my ass......I had no big problems (except some mana preservation here or there) as the paladin in one beyond the hardest difficulty, but now I started the expansion as the assasin and I have to say I am getting my ass whooped real good.Too scarce mana, too weak weapons compared to the enemies I face and too much damage taken from attacks...But I like it tbh, it's challenging

Re: Hexen II is kicking my ass...... Does Hexen II work on anyones PC without the home made patches? Because I'm using WindowsXP and I need to patch it up with the Hammer of Thyrion fan made patch to make it run. Sorry random question....

Re: Hexen II is kicking my ass...... try deleting the glide specific file. That is what fixed my problem with running in hardware mode.

It's a whole strange process I have to go through to make it work. I have to delete the glide, then if I want to play it in GL mode (Rendered) I have to patch it up with the fan made patches. I use Zdoom, it keeps up pretty well with the original gameplay and does not have many bug problems.The only thing is that it gives you the same button range and console for all the applications.As a result, due to some games being more advanced than the others you are able to do things you couldn't do otherwise such as jump or crouch in doom.However I think it's not that difficult to refrain from hitting two buttons

Re: Hexen II is kicking my ass...... I actually have dozens of doom ports on my computer(s). Chocolate Doom, PrBoom, Zdoom, EDGE, Doomsday, SMMU, WinDoom, and the original EXE version 1.9. I really only use the first 3 though. I've even got Doom running on my new Linux PC (playing it regularly!)
